Privacy & terms for Dixie Road Trip — short, because there isn't much to confess.

What this site collects

• No cookies. No accounts. No third-party trackers or ad tech.
• The server keeps an anonymous daily count of page loads (a single number per day) so we know anyone's out there. No IPs, no profiles, no analytics companies.
• Your trip-builder chain and any API keys you paste under Field Notes → Live data live in your browser's localStorage only and never leave your device unless you act.

If you save a trip to the cloud

Clicking ☁ Save to cloud stores exactly the trip name and the list of route ids on this site's server so the short link works on other devices. Nothing identifies you. Saved trips expire after roughly two years. Don't put anything private in a trip name — anyone with the link can open it.

If you use the contact form

The contact form is the one place you can hand us your details on purpose. When you send a message we store the name, email and message you typed — plus the request's IP address, to curb abuse — on this site's server so Dixie Media can read and reply (and, once email delivery is switched on, forward a copy by email). We use it only to answer you; we don't sell it, add you to a list, or share it with anyone else. Prefer no form? Just email hb@dixiemedia.com directly.

Outbound links & live lookups

Navigation and rating links (Google, Apple, Waze, Yelp, HMDb, tour operators) take you to those services under their terms. If you paste your own Google Places key, your browser calls Google directly with it; the optional Yelp lookup goes through this site's proxy without storing anything.

The content itself

Route notes, mileages, hours and "still open" claims are a labor of love, verified in sweeps (last: July 2026) — but the small-town South changes on its own schedule. Verify before you drive an hour for anything, and nothing here is professional advice of any kind. Base cartography is public-domain Natural Earth data; everything else © Dixie Road Trip.
